How Vendor Integrations Work with PSN
To be successful in the competitive business supplies market, you need partnerships with a variety of industry suppliers. Your integrations with these organizations are like the spokes on a wheel, and an ERP that helps improve the process is the oil that keeps the wheel turning.
ECI PSN acts as a middleman between your business and your suppliers. It translates information between your different systems, ensuring that everything is formatted correctly. This means you can communicate with any supplier, regardless of their software system.

Vendor Integration FAQs
How do vendor integrations work?
Working with your ERP system, vendor integrations leverage EDI to electronically send purchase orders to wholesalers and vendors and receive acknowledgments. These are sophisticated systems that review the order, check availability, select the warehouse to be used, and send back a detailed acknowledgement almost immediately. This knows every product ordered and its availability. The warehouse has what is needed for delivery without any human intervention.
How do vendor integrations support faster order processing?
Using integration in your ERP system can remove all the manual tasks for faster ordering processing. Create a purchase order (PO) in your ECI ERP, and the pricing and availability will be automatically checked with the vendor. The order is then sent electronically to the vendor.
How do vendor integrations support error-free ordering?
Integration is important, especially with big orders. Imagine you have an order with 2,000 lines. If you had to enter all that information by hand, it could take half a day or longer. Plus, when doing things manually, there's a chance of a mistake, like mixing up numbers. But with integration, orders are sent to suppliers electronically, without any errors.
What is the Private Supply Network?
With ECI solutions, you can submit the purchase order via the (Private Supply Network) PSN integration where it's customized to each vendor's required format and sent to the vendor. The purchase order acknowledgment is then made available for you to retrieve through PSN.
Do vendor integrations help independent dealers compete?
Yes. Integration also helps level the playing field if you're an independent dealer. Big companies like Amazon have resources that you just can't match. But if you partner with major wholesalers like S.P. Richards or Essendant, and other suppliers in the industry, you can compete with national competitors. You can even go head-to-head with many of the internet resellers and come out on top.
