Life with JobBOSS
Magna Machining has been working with ECI for nearly twenty years, utilizing JobBOSS ERP. This year, they made the move to JobBOSS² ERP. Having been on the software for only about six months now, Shane Moses, production manager at Magna Machining, says they are constantly learning something new every week within the software.
From JobBOSS to JobBOSS²
When Magna Machining began discussing the upgrade of their ERP, the primary concern was capturing more data to identify areas where the business was experiencing losses and where it was achieving successes. While JobBOSS was sufficient, the ability to capture real-time information within JobBOSS² was a game-changer.
“You know, we can make changes in real time to the templates and the quotes, employee reporting, and ordering,” explained Shane. “That’s stuff that we just didn’t have before. And, you know, it’s just invaluable to have that information in real time.”
JobBOSS² has provided Magna Machining with more ways to capture data and easier navigation through it. It has given them the opportunity to run operations more efficiently.
“Our orders and backlog visibility is just wonderful now. I can see that as soon as I open up JobBOSS², it’s right there on the main screen. Our delivery dates—we can see those and where we’re trending to be late.”
As for implementation, Shane describes the migration from JobBOSS to JobBOSS² as fairly simple.
“So the migration was fairly easy for me. I just didn’t have any problems at all. It was a great experience.”
Although the platforms share similarities, Shane says, “I’m not going to say it’s absolutely completely different, but it is completely different.” He further explains that JobBOSS² has the depth that JobBOSS lacked.
As the company continues to acclimate to its new JobBOSS² ERP, they are looking to utilize the many different modules, such as machine monitoring, inventory tracking, and training modules that were previously unavailable to them. Because of their willingness to innovate and upgrade, Magna Machining has achieved greater data collection, visibility, and strategic opportunities.
