Cut Your Build Cycle by Mapping to Critical Path

Analyze and shorten your build cycle to increase efficiency and profitability

It is no surprise that the faster you can build a home, the more money you will make. Not only will you get paid faster and be able to fit in more projects during the year, but you will also save on financing costs and other expenses. It is estimated that it costs builders $300 for every day a home sits empty. How many days do your homes sit empty? Can you improve your scheduling to reduce that number?

Time is money and never more so than in home building. On average, builders typically use about 22 different subcontractors to build a single-family home. Each trade has their own schedule and needs certain access to the home in order to complete their job. Often times, one contractor needs to complete their project before the next trade can start or, based on what kind of mess will be made in the home, you want to schedule one contractor before the other. But, what if you can set up a construction schedule where you can overlap trades that have no impact on another? What is the true amount of time you need to complete your project? Do you know?

Join Carrie Roeger as she reviews the components of the construction schedule and guides attendees through a process to analyze your current schedule and map to critical path. Attendees will learn how to:

  • Identify and map out current construction schedule
  • Evaluate current process to map to critical path
  • Improve your cycle time
  • Set up a system to continually analyze each job and continue to make improvements
