Meet the Team: Andrew Myers

Andrew Myers

In this blog we feature Andrew Myers, director of sales with LBM at ECI Software Solutions. We sat down with Andrew to learn more about his role within the team.

ECI: Describe your role in 50 words or less.

Andrew Myers (AM): My role is to lead and support our sales team as they work to help our customers configure and implement mission critical software solutions for their business.

ECI: What and where did you study?

AM: I studied at Murray State University and received a bachelor’s degree in Business Management

ECI: Tell us a bit about your background and the path that led you to your current role?

AM: I grew up in my family’s lumber yard and began working there in high school. Over the next 10 years I continued to grow in the business and add new responsibilities, ultimately managing our plumbing and electric location prior to joining ECI in 2016. My first role within ECI was helping new customers review ECI and determine the most cost-effective solution to implement and drive growth within their business. In 2022, I was promoted to lead our RockSolid sales team and added responsibilities this year for our Spruce and RockSolid Max Account Management program. This industry has been my lifeblood since the day I was born and I have thoroughly enjoyed the journey to where I stand today.

ECI: What does your day-to-day work life look like?

AM: On an average day I toggle between various meetings with my team members, other cross-functional members with ECI, current and prospective customers, as well as reviewing various dashboards and performance metrics. I am grateful for the opportunity to work from home as well, which gives me a lot of flexibility and work-life balance with my family.

ECI: What advice would you give to someone just starting out in your industry? Any words of wisdom?

AM: The LBM industry is a tight-knit community and will reward anyone who is willing to put in the effort to grow and succeed. I have been grateful for the relationships and connections I have made along the way and feel that I have a long list of individuals that I could call for help at a moment’s notice. My advice is to pursue meaningful connections, become someone others can rely on, and always look for opportunities to grow personally and professionally.

ECI: What excites you most about working within this industry?

AM: I was born into this industry and have been involved in it at all stages of life, and it is a thrill every time I am able to take my personal experience and perspective into a customer conversation to help them drive the growth the are looking for in their business.

ECI: What is the most important lesson you’ve learned since you began your career?

AM: The importance of humble confidence has been a critical piece of the puzzle throughout my career; confidently knowing the unique value I bring to the table while recognizing that I always have more to learn from those around me.

ECI: Since you started working in the industry, what changes have you witnessed?

AM: As the industry turns over and new owners begin taking over or opening their own stores, the reliance and desire for technology has grown significantly. Many of the customers I have worked with over the years were looking for a leading software provider within the industry delivering a cloud-based solution designed for their business. The word “cloud” was once met with caution and uncertainty, but is now a critical point of confidence for our customers.

ECI: What do you enjoy doing when you're not at work?

AM: I am married with three young children, so we enjoy spending our time immersed in all of their favorite activities, such as sports, gymnastics, and Lego building. Apart from that, my wife and I love to travel when possible and visit Nashville, Tenn. often for a quick getaway.

ECI: What book would you recommend for anyone to add to their ‘must-read list?

AM: “Extreme Ownership” by Jocko Willink is a personal favorite and discusses several important leadership principles through a military lens. It is an excellent read!
