Course Overview

This online course is designed for both new and current MarkSystems users who are interested in furthering their Purchasing knowledge in MarkSystems. The course will provide in-depth details about the management, utilization, and best practices of Options, Contracts, and Material Lists along with an overview of how data flows through the system to the ITK. At the end, you will take part in discussions and hands on MarkSystems® exercises with a MarkSystems expert.

Classes with be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays for 3 weeks. An optional orientation will be held on the Monday before classes start.

Course Learning Objectives

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Manage and Maintain Base House Budgets
  • Manage and maintain all types of options and option budgets within the System
  • Manage and maintain turnkey pricing through vendor contracts
  • Manage and maintain material lists and product pricing

Materials Required to Begin Course

  • Personal Laptop or device
  • MarkSystems login and password already set up
  • ITK Super login and password already set up

Additional Information

  • Two expert instructors are provided for the remote event to take questions and assist with questions.
  • It is recommended that only one person utilize each reserved seat so that we can staff accordingly and be able to provide full support to all trainees.
  • All regular materials for the course will be provided digitally
  • Upon completion of this course, you will receive a certification in Purchasing 101.

Course Schedule

Registration and Prerequisite Reading Materials

  • Each Registered Attendee will be registered for the first session of independent learning as early as Friday before the First-Class Week. Confirmation will be sent.
  • Learn at you own pace. Prerequisite reading materials will be distributed a week or two before the class and are designed to get you started, Documents will be used for future reference.
  • Each Registered Attendee will be registered for each subsequent independent learning section at the completion of the previous live session. Confirmation will be sent once access is granted.
  • All materials will be provided digitally, and the standard certificate of completion will be provided.

Live Session to review any complications on logging into to the MarkSystems University training environment and the LMS.
