Make the Switch Before POS-partner Quits Processing Credit Cards!
Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010
Dear ECi DDMS Customers:
This reminder is for all dealers who use POS-partner to process credit card transactions. This message includes an important clarification for the remaining affected dealers.
As we reported Jan. 12, POS-partner's holding company, TSYS Acquiring Solutions, is suspending its support for POS-partner credit card transactions effective Monday, Feb. 1.
ECi Technical Support wanted to inform you of the migration options that DDMS supports:
Note: Timing is critical. If you currently use POS-partner but do not migrate to another option by TSYS's sunset date of Monday, February 1, your credit card transactions will fail — whether from the DDMS system or your Web storefront. This creates a system down situation we would like to help you avoid.
Approval Link™ 4.0 for NET1 Payment Solutions
ECi has developed interfaces with various credit card processing services who have come and gone. However, ECi's joint development with NET1 Payment Solutions results in a deeper integration, and therefore streamlined processes and greater cost savings. Approval Link™ 4.0 for NET1 Payment Solutions, available in DDMS 8.12 and above, is the direct integration interface between your DDMS system and NET1 Payment Solutions.
NET1 is a registered ISO/MSP of Sage Payment Solutions, NA, providing services to over 100,000 merchants worldwide. As an ECi preferred vendor, NET1 enjoys years of inside experience implementing DDMS systems, which affords the following benefits to dealers:
- You pay no application, programming or setup fees.
- Rates from 1.8 percent lower your expenses and increase your margin on every sale.
- Detailed rate quote & savings analysis provide full disclosure of potential charges.
- NET1 serves as both authorization service and merchant account processor.
- Free Virtual Terminal gives you free online reporting via your Web browser.
- NET1 lets you receive authorizations,
store transactions, settle transactions with your clearing house, report on your transaction dollars by type of card and communicate electronically using Internet TCP/IP.
- It is compatible with all major credit card services including MasterCard, Visa, American Express/Optima, and more.
- Delay capture of funds. When a credit card is authorized for an order that is not invoiced, the total dollar amount of the order is temporarily reserved on the credit card and a reference number is assigned. This marries the authorization and invoice by sending the reference number with the invoice transaction. (With POS-partner, billing the order ties up the money until it expires, because the invoice is sent in a separate transaction.)
Since there is no software to purchase and no other party to contact, the first step to get started with Approval Link 4.0 is to contact Brian Morabito at NET1 Payment Solutions by email (brian@net1creditcard.com) or phone (1-800-718-8005).
For detailed instructions on setup, authorization, and use, see Credit Card Processing with Approval Link 4.0 (pdf).
Approval Link 3.0 for Verisign PayFlow Pro
Approval Link 3.0 for VeriSign* PayFlo Pro gives you the following advantages:
- It communicates with PayFlow Pro® software via Web services, so you can look up transactions on PayFlow Manager using your Web browser.
- Payflo Pro software also lets you receive authorizations,
store transactions, settle transactions with your clearing house, report on your transaction dollars by type of card and communicate electronically using Internet TCP/IP.
- It is also compatible with all major credit card services including MasterCard, Visa, and American Express/Optima.
- It also lets you delay capture of funds. When a credit card is authorized for an order that is not invoiced, the total dollar amount of the order is temporarily reserved on the credit card and a reference number is assigned. To upgrade to Approval Link 3.0 for VeriSign PayFlo Pro, contact ECi Sales by email (info@ecisolutions.com) or phone (1-866-374-3221).

For detailed instructions on the information you need to gather and the steps involved in setup, authorization, and use, see Credit Card Processing with Approval Link 3.0 (pdf).
