S.P. Richards Releases 13-Character AbilityOne Catalog

On Wednesday, June 23, 2010, a new global catalog of AbilityOne (formerly known as JWOD) products will be available for S.P. Richards Enhanced Search — using the standardized 13-character SKU.

This resolves a discrepancy between the 13-character item number in your back-end system's inventory and the 7-character item number used by S.P. Richards' system, which often resulted in missing results in Enhanced Search.

If this issue affects you, add the new "SPR AbilityOne JWOD-13" catalog to your Global Catalog Group. Then assign it to affected customers. Your customers may include federal agencies or contractors who are required to purchase from qualified nonprofit agencies for the blind or severely disabled.

Here are detailed instructions:

1. On or after Wednesday morning, log in to your Admin Control Panel.
2. From the left menu, click Global Settings.
   Or, from the top Training menu, click Product Management.
3. Then click Global Catalog Group Management.
   • To add a new SPR AbilityOne JWOD-13 group, click Add New Group.
   • To add the SPR AbilityOne JWOD-13 to an existing catalog group, click the Edit button for the desired row.
4. Scroll to the last of the S.P. Richards catalogs, after SPR Canada.
5. Check the box for SPRichards JWOD - SPR AbilityOne JWOD-13.
   (You may see S.P. Richards - Jwod Catalog earlier in the list, but that's not it. Pick the one with "13" in the name, as shown below.)
   
6. Click the Save button.
7. From the left menu, click Customer Management and then click Customer Management.
   Or, from the top Training menu, click Consumer Admin and click Customer Maintenance.
8. Enter limits as needed for customers who need to be assigned to the SPRichards JWOD - SPR AbilityOne JWOD-13 catalog, and click Search.
9. For the desired customer, click the Edit button.
10. Click the Parameters tab.
11. Under Catalog Groups, click the Global drop-down box, and select SPRichards JWOD - SPR AbilityOne JWOD-13, as shown below.
12. Click the Update button.
13. Click the Continue button (to return to the main application page's results).
14. Repeat steps 10-14 for each customer to be assigned to the SPRichards JWOD - SPR AbilityOne JWOD-13 catalog.
15. Wait overnight for Catalog Combination Indexing and S.P. Richards Enhanced Content synchronization to complete. Then, test a few NSN 13-character item searches.
